Zumba break at We Move Forward

I try to stay away from New Year’s resolutions as I feel they can set us up for unnecessary anxiety. Instead, I like to reflect on highlights from the outgoing year and see what themes emerge for the incoming year.

For example, 2011 was my Year of Getting Real. Realizing that juggling 3 jobs while living with 18 cats and 1 ex-husband wasn’t the life I wanted, I sought major changes starting with an authentic re-do of my online dating profile.

2012 was my Year of Clean Up as I left my jobs, some of my cats and my ex-husband (again). I also sold my house.

2013 was my Year of Set Up because I got married and helped my husband sell his house, so we could buy a house – together.

2014 was my Year of Adventure! Here are the highlights in chronological order:

* Launching The Adventure Project

* Exploring Isla Mujeres while attending the We Move Forward Women’s Conference, Retreat and Celebration

Exploring cat culture in York, England

* Roadtripping around Southern England

* FINALY going to camp (and as a counselor!) at Camp Grounded

* Mini road trip between Mendocino and the Avenue of the Giants

* Exploring the northern Oregon and southern Washington coasts

* Attending my first World Domination Summit

* Attending Life of “Yes” Sleepaway Camp

* Visiting South America for the first time

Amy and Chris in Colombia (1104)

Taking a break in Bogota’s Candalaria neighborhood

* Doing improv in the woods at Camp Improv Utopia East

* Being with the big trees at Far Horizons Camp

* Colorado Roadtripping

* Presenting & playing at The Applied Improvisation Network World conference

What does this mean for 2015? It means that my adventure toolbox is overflowing and I’m ready to incorporate the play, the mindfulness and the travel experiences into The Adventure Project’s offerings. Because of that, I’m calling 2015 the Year of Clarity. Stay tuned to see how it unfolds and how you can get involved.

In the meantime, registration is still open for We Move Forward. If you’re a woman looking to jump start your next chapter, join me on an adventure that incorporates play, mindfulness and personal growth in an interactive experience on a magical island setting.

Thanks for joining me throughout last year’s adventures and may you play your way into your 2015 adventures!
