About Me

My name is Amy Angelilli and I hope that you’ll take a few minutes to get to know me. I’m a certified laughter yoga leader and a graduate of Philadelphia’s ComedySportz and Denver’s Bovine Metropolis Theater schools of improvisational theater with more than 15 years of experience in improv. I’m a lifelong traveler and creative self-starter who got the bug for telling stories in high school when I worked on the newspaper staff. This ultimately led to studying marketing and Spanish, and extensive travels everywhere from Colombia to Cambodia.

After a brief pit stop in corporate America, I embraced social responsibility marketing and in 2001, founded The People-Pet Partnership, a non-profit to combat pet overpopulation in Philadelphia. My work was featured in The South Philadelphia Review, The Philadelphia Daily News and Women’s Day and was even recognized by Best Friends Animal Society. In 2009, I launched The Feline Fix, Colorado’s first high-volume, subsidized spay/neuter clinic for stray and feral cats.

I also immersed myself in improvisational theater while I was working with homeless pets. I have spent more than 15 years studying, performing and teaching improv, and even created and produced two theater experiences showcasing my improv skills regularly at improv theaters in Denver. It’s All About Amy is the unscripted, and ever-changing story of my life, while 3 Blind Dates is unscripted romantic comedy where audience members select the couples. I also created the alter ego, Nurse Nancy, to serve as a tongue-in-cheek ambassador for pet overpopulation to communicate my spay/neuter message.

Throughout these experiences, I also managed to find time for meaningful travel. My own “Adventure Project” came about when I was on safari in South Africa to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was then that I decided to make major changes – both personally and professionally – and dedicate my life to the things that matter most; improv and authentic travel experiences. I quickly realized that my next adventure would be anchored in facilitating transformation by bringing my passion for play to people – working in every environment imaginable from yoga studios and retreats to summer camps and senior centers. Thus, The Adventure Project was born.

What do other folks have to say?

Loads of people have worked with Amy and loved the experience. Want to get to know her and her work a little bit more before you decide to join in the fun? Here are some articles written to take a deeper look from an outside perspective about The Adventure Project.
