Are you consumed with what’s swirling around in your own head? Do you miss the period of your life when you could drop everything and play? Does being an adult feel like a lot of work and not much fun?
It’s time you went to recess!
At Recess for Grown-Ups, you’ll experience a hybrid of summer camp, a weekend retreat and a mini vacation – all within a 30-minute drive from downtown Denver. During your whole day of “time out,” you’ll explore the art of cooperative, immersive play and how it can lead to self-discovery and meaningful connections … and, of course, fun!
While at Recess for Grown-Ups, you will:
• Disconnect from digital devices;
• Reconnect to yourself and your fellow playmates;
• Have opportunities for your inner child to appear – and flourish;
• Create magic with your imagination;
• Be completely present in safe, supportive space;
• Say, “Yes!” to yourself and to your recess community.
Lunch, beverages, snacks, activities and activity materials are included in the adventure!
WEEKEND RETREAT: Playing for Love Mountain Retreat
A playshop and digital detox weekend for those seeking authenticity in their dating experiences and relationships
$415 (includes meals, lodging, activities & materials)
Highlands Presbyterian Camp & Retreat Center (Allenspark, CO)
It’s summer! Love is in the air, people are energized, playing outside and meeting up in the parks; suddenly everyone is magically more sociable.
For some of us, this socialization process is a bit more difficult, especially when we’re trying to find someone to engage in a relationship with. We tend to focus on presenting what we think is the best version of ourselves to just find someone, instead of being the full version of ourselves so that we find the right one.
Our fears of being vulnerable and stepping into the unknown also tend to overcome the beauty of this process and the world of opportunities it reveals. This creates tensions that have the opposite effect of the very intention of dating – connecting with someone to share a good moment – resulting in discomfort and awkwardness.
But how do we develop our capacities to express our full selves and to connect authentically with others?
During this weekend of play, you will experience a series of cooperative games that will help you to reveal and express your true self in dating. More specifically, we will explore:
How to shift focus from what we do to who we are.
How to let go of our fears around hoping for the perfect story.
How to create and nurture connections in potential relationships.
And, how to engage in dating experiences with lightness, fun and confidence.
This weekend will also serve as a digital detox to reconnect with our offline-selves in order to learn how to express it in real time then, if we want, to express it online.
Let’s play and develop agile, fun and authentic ways of dating.
Facilitators: Amy Angelilli & Jonathan Jubinville
